The New York Giants have fired staff members, defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, and head coach Brian Daboll. I wouldn’t rule out a reset; it’s more of a new beginning. This change was necessary due to blown 4th-quarter leads, inconsistent play, and a locker room that appears completely drained and frustrated, while the organization continues its search for the next head coach for the future. The caller/ offensive coordinator, Mike Kafka, is the interim Head coach, and Charlie Bullen has been named as the replacement for Shane Bowen.

Brian Daboll went from promising coach of the year in 2022 after bringing the New York Giants to the playoffs in 2022, and yet, after four straight losing seasons, it was time to move on. From the time coach Daboll stepped into his role as head coach in the Giants' facility, everyone thought he would be the long-term head coach.

As for Shane Bowen, the Giants' defense under Bowen was one of the worst, setting them last in the league. When it was time for the defense to step up, they collapsed during the crucial moments in the game. Multiple games got away from them simply because the defense couldn’t stop the run.

This was the breaking point that happened after another could have been victory in the fourth quarter, let down, when the defense gave up a double-digit lead in a high-intense game against the Denver Broncos. The Giant’s front office acted swiftly, while terminating Shane Bowen and giving Charlie Bullen a chance to see what he can do.

With both of the coaches getting fired,  it gave a turning point for the Giants. Now it’s all eyes on General Manager Joe Schoen going into the end of another losing season.
