Detached: The Anxious and the Avoidant

Serena Castillo, also known as Re, is an author, editor, producer, podcast host, and publisher. Serena is an alumnus of CUNY, Medgar Evers College, with her BA in English for Creative Writing, and an alumnus of Full Sail University with her BS in Media Communications. Serena has always aimed to be an author, but as time passed, she created new interests such as podcasting. In 2017, she created and co-hosted The Need to Know with Shemar Lebreton. They continued the show for six years before they called it quits. But during that time in 2020/2021, she began her interview series, Written Articles on Camera™. As she stepped away from being on camera to being behind the camera, she had more time to transition into online publishing for The World of Perspective™ in 2024.

Serena published her first book in 2020, Drugs of Love and Sex, and her second book, Unknonwn, in 2022. She aims to publish two more books within the next year and is working on rebranding and starting back podcasting with co-host Shemar. In the years to come, Serena hopes she can continue to build a community of writers, creatives, and readers so that she can thrive in the publishing world with her own publishing company. She believes that the pieces are all set; it's just how they will plan to be glued together. Time will tell.
